Transfer

Transferring from AACC to a four-year college or university is the top reason people attend AACC.

In fall 2025, nearly 75% of AACC students attended part-time. Some students come to AACC for a semester, some are with us for years. When you’re ready, transfer to a four-year school to continue your education.

The top schools AACC students transfer to are UMGC, UMD, Towson and UMBC, but we can help you make a plan to get where you want to go.

Even if you don’t know when you want to transfer, planning is the most important part of the transfer process, so it’s never too soon to email transfer@aacc.edu and get started.

University of Maryland Pre-Transfer Advising

AACC is one of only four community colleges that offers a dedicated transfer advisor for the University of Maryland. Imani Burwell-Finch is the UMD Program Manager at AACC so she works for UMD but only with AACC students! You can schedule a meeting with her to discuss your progress and plans.
