Meet Our Faculty
AACC’s faculty are experts in their fields with advanced degrees and experience in the field. Most importantly, they’re passionate about teaching.

Tim Mayhill, English professor
Tim Mayhill approaches his English classes with an enthusiasm that’s infectious. Rather than lecturing, he believes in a dynamic discussion-based style. He’s so popular that he was the student’s choice for Commencement speaker in 2026.

Tracey Short, LPN and nursing professor
Tracey Short, an assistant professor and licensed practical nurse (LPN) program coordinator. Ask her about redefining herself. She was a flight attendant for almost 20 years before transitioning to a career in nursing. Now she’s an educator.

Kymberly Smith Jackson, J.D., legal studies professor
Kymberly Smith Jackson, J.D., (pictured third from the left) believes deeply in the power of education. As a federal prosecutor, Jackson witnessed how criminal conduct often stems from a paralyzing sense of hopelessness caused by barriers to educational success and skills development. Now she is committed to helping students start on a path toward paralegal studies and more.

Anthony Santorelli, Ph.D., science professor
Anthony Santorelli, Ph.D., who teaches classes in general physical science, oceanography, meteorology and global climate change, always tries to create a comfortable atmosphere in the classroom (pun intended).
